Lynne Jackaman – One Shot
Although she isn’t a newcomer by any means, this is the long-awaited debut album of the former front singer of the rock band Saint Jude. And to get straight to the point, it was definitely worth the wait!
Because with her album she transforms from rock chick to soul diva. And don’t get me wrong, the album will appeal to everyone, as it goes from the blues-like On Your Own to the beautiful ballad Beautiful Loss and from the funky Supernasty to a touch of rock with Nothing But My Records On.
But not only is it all held together with her smoky, soulful vocals, but also the flow of the entire album is put together in such a way, that it still sounds as one. You’ll never have the urge to skip a song.
So Lynne Jackaman may have used a (too?) long time to aim, but she only needed One Shot to hit the bullseye dead center!..
